Hardware, Software and Other Features

Unless you are a kid, new into the world of smart phones, you already know that the important thing is not the pretty design with which a phone comes, but the engine that is under the hood, powering the device. So let us start this review by highlighting some of the engine features that the Tecno Camon 12 Pro comes with, so you know exactly what you are buying, and what functions and capabilities you are buying exactly.

The Tecno Camon 12 Pro comes with the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset which appears to be the industry standard at the moment.

This octa core chipset is now fitted with an increased 6GB of RAM, which is even bigger than my laptop.  It also comes with a memory storage capacity of  64GB which is expandable with a micro sd Memory stick.

Now to the software: The Camon 12 pro comes with the Android 9 Pie Operating System which has been adapted for functionality with the in-house HiOS 5.5.

All that operating power would mean nothing without a capable battery, and so thank God the Tecno Camon 12 Pro comes fitted with a powerful 3,500mAh battery. A phone of this capacity could come with a more powerful battery, but a this 3,500 mAh battery does not under-perform so, it gets our nod. As a matter of  fact you can go a whole day with this phone, without it shutting down- even with heavy usage.

Now let us come down to the superficial-the design and outward appearance of the Tecno Camon 12 Pro.

Design and Display

Here we have a 6.4-inch screen on the front of the phone. And it is not just a big screen, it is an Amoled screen. This is an upgrade from the smaller Camon phones, because the Amoled screen produces much more impressive visual images than the IPS screen. If you are a media person, whose world revolves around images and videos, then this is the phone for you. You will enjoy watching videos on this phone, and the picture quality is top notch.

The build is a U –shape, and that design is incorporated into the screen. The top side of the screen, right on top of the screen, has the selfie camera and a speakerphone too. Let us not forget to mention that the phone has a screen to body ratio of 91%.

Another notable improvement is that the fingerprint sensor of this phone has been moved to under the screen. This is how it is with top of the line smart phones at the moment. This pretty much brings the Camon 12 pro into the league of the posh, exclusive phones.

On the flat side- the thickness of the phone- you can find the volume rocker set as well as the power button. There is also the 3.55mm headphone jack.

On the Back

On the backside the phone has rear camera arrangement that is reminiscent of the i-phone. They call it a triple camera setup.

The phone is built with a plastic body, and comes in a number of colors, including Dawn Blue, and Brown. We know for sure that some people actually buy phones just because they like the colour- well, blue is a very popular colour. Let us now look at the camera, which is a major feature of this phone.

Camera

Lesser versions of smartphones come with 8 and 16 MP selfie cameras, but the Tecno Camon 12 Pro is endowed with a much more powerful and capable camera in the selfie department: this phone come with a 32MP selfie snapper to completely knock you off your feet with breathtaking selfies.
Switching our focus to the back of the phone we are greeted with a main 16 megapixels camera which is followed by an 8 megapixels ultrawide snapper and 2 megapixels depth sensor. You also have AI and AR baked into both cameras.

Tecno Camon 12 Pro is fitted with the same dual flash design that the Camon 12 and the elite Phantom 9 have. The LED flash flanks the earpiece on both sides.

Conclusion:

Are you thinking of getting the Tecno Camon 12 pro, then you have a good idea brewing in your head. This is a very capable phone in deed, and is sure to satisfy you with functionality, battery life, and the ability to multi task efficiently without any problems.
